IMTU Hospital is a hundred bed well equipped hospital located within IMTU campus. The hospital is not yet recognized as a teaching and intern hospital. In a very short time, the hospital will mature into a teaching and intern hospital. The students have additional rotation in IMTU Hospital even now to have more exposure to practical training. The hospital is service oriented and often conducts free medical camps at various locations of Dar es Salaam to improve the health of the community. Free consultations and drugs are offered to the poorer sections of the society. All the doctors and students take active part in these camps. The hospital provides the cheapest medical care in the City. The medical care is available 24 hours and on all seven days of the week. The facilities available at IMTU Hospital are:

• Waiting Room and Reception. Staffed and open round the clock.
• Casualty and General Clinic. A medical Officer and nursing staff are always available. The patient is expeditiously cared for and if required referred to a Specialist or admitted.
• The Specialist Clinics. IMTU's own consultants/specialists man these clinics in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, ENT, Optholmology and Dermatology. Infertility clinichas also been added.
• Wards. Separate wards for male and female patients and special rooms are available. There is a well equipped labour room, paediatric intensive care unit, maternity ward, surgical ward , medical ward and an intensive care unit.
• Operation Theaters. Well equipped and adequately staffed Major OT and Minor OT are existing.
  
• X-ray Department. The X-ray department has a portable unit also in addition to the fixed unit.
  
• Ultra Sound. Pelvic organs, kidneys, liver, spleen, pancreas, adrenal glands and thyroid glands are examined.
• ECG Unit.
  
• Diagnostic Laboratory. The laboratory is the following sections:

  (ii) Haematology.
  (iii) Bacteriology.
  (iv) Biochemistry.
  
  
• Pharmacy: The hospital has a well stocked pharmacy.
  
• Mortuary: A small mortuary is existing.
